TWENTY THIRTEEN
Left too long this blog of mine.. its been a year and a LOT of things have changed.. including my weight *sighs* but hopefully that will change this year. A New Year eve spent with my loving family.. 2 days after back to work full swing.
It has been three weeks into the new year .. so far.. on the work front we know it will get messier then ever .. a learning curve and will definitely bring in the paradigm shift however way we look at it. Hoping though it will end well (thats the optimistic me talking).
Three weeks into the New Year on the health front . . it has been 2 course of antibiotics.. from bad flu and swollen gums now having chest infections with bronchospasm... duh.. coughing your guts out is not conducive to my plans .. you cough every hour and cant get any decent sleep.. Allah have mercy on me and may my sins be forgiven. Now to pick up where i left off early last year.. yes.. my fitness regime and healthier diet.
This coming week will be heavy with important meetings and all that. Will for sure try to get on the health bandwagon.. sleep earlier and have a more healthier and balanced lifestyle .
This year.. My Lil'D started year 1...guess who was more nervous.. yes I was not ready but thankfully D was excited and so ready to go into his new school.. so far so good and am hoping for a great great experience it is what I call the second hurdle after montessori .. primary school! He has gotten many merit stars and its only 2 weeks of school :)
On that note here's to a better and more fulfilling year!

One of those conversations..
My not so lil D comes up with the most interesting Gems now and again. Smart Alec!
So as not to forget I shall try to preserve those "gems" in here now and again the following was what I remembered most:
(1) Lil D at 3
I Laf youuu..
(2) lil D at 4
In the car.. his Dad and I were having one of those random conversations that was very animated it may seem like a debate.. the lil guy was at the back playing his game.. quiet. The conversation got more animated and the lil guy gave his best "stern" voice and went.."Come on guys.. cut it out .. don't fight" hahahaha...I had to explain to him that Mommy and Babah were not fighting.. we were having a conversation.. and he said .."Not too loud guys" :P who is the parent here??!
(3) Lil D at 2 months after turning 5 years old
We were going around looking for a tailor that does an Army Uniform for his end of year concert. We had lunch but I did not get a chance to bring him to the lil men's room . So his Dad kept annoying him.. D... do you need pow pow..he went .. Nooo... the Dad did not stop there.. he went.. D.. you surreeeeee you don't wanna poo poo.. and he went noooo no needdd..and his dad went.. you sureee you dont wanna sheesheee.. by now he was growing tired of his Dad's incessant questions... His Dad asked.. your bag dont want to go to poo poo? D said.. NO!.. the dad laughed at his own jokes (I was busy playing scrabble on the Hubz iPhone)..what did the lil guy say.. Babah.. you ALWAYS make bad JOKES! hahahaha.. I almost peed on my pants.. the Hubz did not have a good come back for that! hehe..
The pic on this post is of Lil D with a schoolmate in their cute lil uniforms :) adorable!
(4) Lil D at 5
The Lil Guy have been pestering me for a lil sister or brother.. he says ada baby dalam parut mummy ..I want 2 okay.. and I say InsyaAllah . . you pray that Mommy can give you a sister or brother okay.. and he went off happy. The next day he ran into the room and say.. Mom I dont want baby.. no need to have baby.. and I went WHY ? he said.. I dont want you to get cut open when they need to take the baby out.. (I have noooo idea where he got that from either)! I had to explain to him that Doc's can do wonders and I wont feel any pain.. :P Then he said ok .. I want 2 ..If only Babies grow on trees!
After coming home from getting some stuff.. the lil Guy and I lingered outside admiring the moon..It was full moon. The moon looked so Big and Bright tonite.. Danial and I was appreciating it outside the house.. I said ...wah D the Moon look soooo Biggg and prettyyy... D said.. yessss.. its so Bigg and brightt.. why is the moon following me all the time :P heehhehe..
I love these moments..

TWENTY TWELVE
The first month of Twenty Twelve is almost gone.. the second months is upon us.. my how fast time is moving past.
Have been feeling physically and emotionally tired after a jam packed end of Dec 2011 and early Jan 2012. Got back to work and we had a strategic prioritization done..stuff on my plate..is tremendous!
Trying very hard to snap out of this malancholic feeling and get on with it.. what is clear is this..I refuse to read to much into things.. but I am only human . We feel ..We hurt.. We get annoyed..We worry.
On the home front.. My D came home telling me he can read . I took that with a pinch of salt, the week before we had done some reading and he was hesitant or not very confident although he can actually spell and sound the letters phonetically.
To my surprise.. this week he read 30 sentences surely and steadily.. oh I was sooo sooo proud! the more he progressed the more I cheered him on the more he was excited to spell and read. Alhamdulillah.
His maths (addition) was going very well too.. he loves his numbers it appears.
Am praying that this continues just so he does not have to face any more difficulties when he goes into Primary 1 next year. A big year next year and Hubz and I are still undecided as to which school to send him to. I hope we make the right decision and its a decision we will have to make fast in order to ensure he has a place to go to.

Home Sweet Home
Am Back Home and had a good time until Lil D got sick.. it would seem that the "break" we wanted turned out to be not so much of a break after all.. LilD had vomitted 12 midnite and had fever the next morning so most nites was me sponge bathing him and making sure he got his meds and comforting him when required..
Had a good time with my brothers tho..spent good quality time at home :) had a great time chit chatting and catching up...unfortunately we cant spend a lot of time on account of LilD needing a lot of rest and sleep..so a lot of time was spent at home.. had to scrap my plans of a picnic and splashing at the beach.. oh well maybe next time.. me thinks theres another long holiday a coming next weekend :P
enjoy the video I posted.. came across this and it was just gorgeous.. love love love it

Praise
Happy New Year peeps..
It is TWENTY TEN ..Praise to Allah SWT that I am healthy and is recuperating as best as I can physically and spiritually..Alhamdulillah Lil D and Hubz is healthy . I am comforted that whatever adversity I face my family is always with me Alhamdulillah.
The earthquake in Haiti is another reminder for us to gather ourselves to do what really does matter in life.
I would like to share this beautiful number from Sami Yusuf.. I know I have been posting songs of late rather than "blog".. I find that this one reflects my mood.. give me time.. I am still trying to gather myself and blog about what has happened.. suffice to say I find solace in Allah and all that is willed.

The Climb...
A lot of time has passed.. a lot of things has happened .. deaths, birthdays and happy events all in the span of a few months.
I guess.. everyone needs to ascend in living their lives.. yes there are ups and downs.. but we make our lives what it is.. accountable to our own actions.. all challenges we have to face..head on.
This song is so apt. Enjoy this Acappella cover of M.iley's song by AHMIR- thanks Atty for introducing.. love their sound.. so reminiscent of B II M
p/s will try to update more

To say we were shocked was an understatement, it was like loosing someone you know.. all of your life.. we all at some point grew up with Michael Jackson's song.. danced to it, lamented with it..sang to it..alas.. what comes from God will return to God..May God bless his soul..
Saw this video on utube..an MJ collaboration with the Stars .. not the most played song but I think this represents MJ till his death.. yeah what more can he give... RIP Michael Jackson.

Updates
- Lil D has started school oh boy were we both heart broken .. he was absolutely fine when we dropped him off to school unfortunately since he was so used to afternoon naps he fell asleep in school. We did not manage to enrol him into the morning class on account of full quota..anyway when finally woke up he just started crying. The teacher rang me at 3.30 to come pick him up.. well that was the standing instruction anyway until further notice.. glad and proud to report that we only picked him up that once at 3.30 the rest is at 4.30 pm on the dot as it should be .
- Lil D got used to school and are now enjoying it very much.. he even had a school trip on a bus to go shopping at SUPASAVE and had tea at the Millenium resto.. not bad for a not so 3 year old.
- For the first time went to LilD's school to pick his report card and happy to report the 2 weeks he was there the teacher is well pleased with his progress considering he came in mid year when other students had a head start.
- I have to start planning for Lil D's Birthday in August as I think this is the age that birthday celebrations will hold some sort of significance and this will be memories is created for them .
- The Government Clinic says Lil D needs to get an MMR Shot 2nd booster when he reaches 3 in August.. bummer! I always get nervous when it comes to shots.
- Discovered Lil D absolutely loveddddddd loved loved swimming.. absolutely refused to go out of the water even though a bit hesitant at first. Even wanted to go into the grown up pool as opposed to the baby pool!I had a tough time going in and out of the pool chasing after him ..but it was fun.
- Had to rush Lil D off to the Medical Center as he was breathing really tightly.. no wheeze just labored breathing.. freaked the bejeepers out of me...hubs wasn't around .. good thing my aunty voluntered to send us ..we were there until 9 pm.. we reached there about 7ish, immediately attended to but..Lil D had to be nebulized so that he could breath more easily.. I absolutely hate it when a child gets sick.. the weight of the whole world is on your shoulders, you keep thinking of "what ifs" and "did i do that right?". Sighs Alhamdulillah .. he is in good shape now..after the nebulizer for about 30 mins and loads of coaxing and cajoling the nurse finally came in to take off the nebulizer mask.. he was so hyper but absolutely lurve the ventolin puffs he had to use..I stopped giving it to him after a week as he stopped coughing and was much better.

Waiting to exhale....
sighsss....
Cleaning new house.. moving things.. buying new things.. searching for things... not so good on the work front too..work load getting more and more.. they say things gets lethargic come end of the year ? well if that is a syndrome its not happening to me this year..... it would seem that everyone is trying to finish things they took their time with in the first place and decided oh she is going on leave lets get her to finish it instead ..and the work load is tripled just like that..
no amount of ranting will resolve it.. what will resolve it is to put my nose on the grind and finish it on time ... because i am going back home.. to unwind.. and until i take that road/ flight (undecided to go by road of plane) home..only then can i exhale...
sighsssssss....
Pardon me.. just needed to vent.. meanwhile enjoy your holidays people you deserve it!

Thoughtlessness....
The boy couldn't have been more than 5 or 6 years old.
The Cashier said, 'I'm sorry, but you don't have enough money to buy this doll.'
Then the little boy turned to the old woman next to him: ''Granny,
are you sure I don't have enough money?''
The old lady replied: ''You know that you don't have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.''
Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look a round. She left quickly.
The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand.
Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to.
'It's the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas.
She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.'
I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry.
But he replied to me sadly. 'No, Santa Claus can't bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.'
His eyes were so sad while saying this. 'My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.''
My heart nearly stopped.
The little boy looked up at me and said: 'I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.'
Then he showed me a very nice photo of him where he was laughing. He then told me 'I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won't forget me.'
'I love my mommy and I wish she doesn't have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.'
Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly.
I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. 'Suppose we check
again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll?''
'OK' he said, 'I hope I do have enough.' I added some of my money to his with out him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money.
The little boy said: 'Thank you God for giving me enough money!'
Then he looked at me and added, 'I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give It to my sister. He heard me!''
'I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn't dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.''
'My mommy loves white roses.'
A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket.
I finished my shopping in a totally different state from when I started.
I couldn't get the little boy out of my mind.
Then I remembered a local news paper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl.
The little girl died right away, and the mother was left in a critical
state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the
life-sustaining machine, because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma.
Was this the family of the little boy?
Two days after this encounter with the little boy, I read in the news paper that the young woman had passed away.
I couldn't stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body o f the young woman was exposed for people to see and make last wishes before her burial.
She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest.
I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed for ever.. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine.
And in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him.
